Baheri is a town and a municipal board in Bareilly district in the state of Uttar pradesh, India.
History
It was a part/village of Kurmanchal kingdom of Kumaon. It was founded during the reign of Nawab of Rampur as it is not very far from the "Capital of Rohailkhand".Geography
Baheri is located at 28°47′N 79°30′E / 28.78°N 79.5°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 271 metres (889 feet). It is situated at equidistant (nearby 47 km) from Bareilly and Haldwani on Nainital road. The town is very close to the lower range of Himalayas, just 24 km from here near Haldwani. The town is in the northernmost limit of Bareilly district. There are many Himalayan rivers that flow near to this town.Climate
Baheri experiences hot summers and heavy monsoons. In summers the temperature can go as high as 45 C and in monsoon[June mid to September] around 1100 mm of rainfall takes place. The monsoon makes the region full of lush greenery and the temperature also becomes moderate. In September 2011 it was flooded and fields were submerged. The average temperatures in monsoon season is 31 C. In spring one can see bloom of flowers like dahlia, sunflower, chrysanthemum, lilacs, tulips, roses of various varieties. The temperature here at that time is 24 C, in the month of March.Society
Baheri is a mixture of all major caste and religions, living together peacefully. Most of the population here are Siddiquis. The majority of the population is are JAts & Muslims followed by Hindus and then by Sikhs. There are many mosques, gurudwara and temples in town.Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Baheri had a population of 58,577. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Baheri has an average literacy rate of 72%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 82% of the males and 58% of females literate. 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.People from various regions and parts are present here like people from West Punjab that migrated Indian regions and also settled in Bareilly district.There are also some Nepali, Kumaoni, Eastern U.P. people and Bengali people here.Infrastructure
There are no skycrapers, malls or any highly urbanizedareas. It is a small but slowly and steadily developing town at Uttarakhand-Western Uttar Pradesh border. The town has hospitals, clinics, schools and religious centres.Development
The town is developing quickly with integrated Industrial Estates being developed .There are many sugar processing industries and sugar cane is grown locally.
Location
The town is located on State Highway 37 that is a sub part of NH 87, which links Pantnagar with Izzatnagar. From Baheri many places in Kumaon and Rohailkhand are linked.Transport
The town is small and there are many lanes here which are congested so rickshaw is the only means of transport. Autos also run here. Usually Uttarakhand Roadways and UPSRTC buses connecting Nainital/Kathgodham/Haldwani to Bareilly and other parts of U.P./Uttarakhand. In Baheri Tata Ace and vikram autos also run mostly on bio-diesels and help people to commune to nearby places.Railways

There are no air services present here. However in extreme emergency cases like medical emergency the air force base at Bareilly gives permission to otherwise restricted civil aviation.Pedology
Soil present is exclusively mixture of Terai and Alluvial and is moderate brown in colour. The Terai is composed of seasonally marshy zone of clay and sandy soils. The Terai has higher rainfall than plains, and the downward rushing rivers of the Himalaya, slow down in flatter Terai zone, depositing fertile silt in the monsoon season and receding in the dry season.
